Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 4 pieces Chicken Breasts Organic and free-range preferred for best flavor.
  • 1 cup Catalina Dressing Quality brands like Kraft or Hidden Valley recommended.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Light or dark brown sugar based on sweetness preference.
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Regular or low-sodium; Kikkoman preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic, minced Fresh garlic packs a punch, but pre-minced works.
  • 1 tablespoon Onion, minced Fresh onion enhances flavor, onion powder is also a substitute.
  • Salt and Pepper To taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of Catalina dressing, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of minced onion. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
  2. Place the 4 chicken breasts into a baking dish. Pour the prepared marinade over the chicken, making sure each piece is nicely coated.
  3. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or a lid and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight for deeper flavor).
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) about 15 minutes before you’re ready to cook.
  5. After marinating, place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
